Many Oregon Cannabis Association members are donating a portion of sales profits to aid victims and loved ones of the tragedy at Umpqua Community College. The campaign began Saturday on Instagram and it is ongoing at many member businesses, where donation boxes are also being set up. In addition, member cultivators are donating flower to dispensaries, and other allied businesses are finding ways to contribute (update: more on this below).
Anyone can also donate directly to the United Way of Douglas County's UCC Relief Fund at any Umpqua Bank or US Bank branch or online at www.uccstrong.com
This is an organic effort being generated by our members - we will update this post with more information as we hear from people.
UPDATED with latest information from our members:
- In Bend, Bloomwell and Oregrown have set up donation boxes and displays with information on how to donate. Both dispensaries will also make a financial contribution to the effort.
- In Portland, Pure Green is working with a cultivator who is donating product to be sold with proceeds to the relief fund. The Shango dispensaries in Portland and Hillsboro will also contribute.
- The Oregon Cannabis Association will also pool donations from members and make a contribution on behalf of the organization.
